I'm Sarah Davis, the consultant behind Off the Beaten Path (OTBP) Consulting. For more than twenty years, I've been walking into organizations where leadership is stuck, structures are broken, and the people doing the most important work are being let down by the systems around them.

I didn't just study nonprofit leadership from the outside -- I lived it. I've led programs, managed multi-state teams, driven fundraising strategy, and directed volunteer operations for organizations like the American Red Cross, Operation Homefront, USA Cares, and Soldiers' Angels. I know what it feels like to stretch a budget, fight for resources, and still be accountable for results. That experience is what I bring to every nonprofit I work with today.

I started OTBP because I was done watching dysfunction get dressed up as strategy. Culture doesn't fix itself. Leadership doesn't improve by accident. And a mission -- no matter how worthy -- can't carry an organization that isn't built to hold it.

Today I work primarily with nonprofits ready to stop surviving and start building. That means strategic planning that actually connects to operations, fundraising and marketing that reflect the real work, organizational structures that make sense, and leadership development that sticks because it's built around real situations -- not hypotheticals.

I also work with individual managers who are ready to stop managing and start leading, and I bring that same direct energy to speaking engagements, workshops, and retreats where organizations need honest conversations instead of polished presentations.

I'm currently completing my Doctor of Business Administration in Organizational Leadership -- because I practice what I preach about never stopping the work of becoming better.

I don't sugarcoat. I don't play politics. I tell the truth -- especially when it's uncomfortable -- because that's how real change actually happens.
